Winnie is known for her vivacious spirit, high energy, and her love for having fun. Winnie is the embodiment of the ideal communicated by Ralph Waldo Emerson that “it is a happy talent to know how to play.” Winnie especially loves imaginative play with her twin brother George, and her friends and cousins. Some of Winnie’s favorite activities include creating beautiful abstract drawings that fill an entire page with color, expressing herself through song and dance, and riding down big hills on her bike. She loves family outings to playgrounds and parks where she can ride her bike, go sledding in the winter snow, create new imaginative worlds on playgrounds, and make new friends.
Winnie also has a passion for learning. Attending preschool provided bountiful opportunities for Winnie to develop mentally, emotionally, and physically. She loves going to preschool to read, craft, play with peers, and build self-confidence. She is also a student of dance and loves performing in her local dance studio.
In May 2022, Winnie suffered a sudden and unexpected medical emergency and passed on from this world to the next.
The Winnie Watson Foundation was founded to advocate for and support young children in mental, social, emotional, and physical development. We hope to provide attention and resources to allow more children to have opportunities for growth and skill-building through access to early childhood learning, self-expression through art and physical activity, and creative and outside play. We envision a happier world where more of us have the same talents for play as Winnie does!
